Welcome to LAPECO!

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2nd Latin America Physics of Estuaries and Coastal Oceans conference, to be held in Panamá City, Panamá.

LAPECO has been inspired by the Physics of Estuaries and Coastal Seas (PECS) biennial conferences. PECS gathers scientists from all over the world. However, few Latin Americans attend PECS, despite many scientists of the region working on the subject. Thus, the purpose of this meeting is to gather students and researchers, working in Latin America, in a relaxed forum.

The 1st LAPECO was held in Florianópolis, Brazil, gathering about 90 attendees from about 20 countries. A special issue of the journal Regional Studies in Marine Science were published with selected contributions.

The 2nd LAPECO is expected to generate a special issue in CONTINENTAL SHELF RESEARCH.

We welcome studies focusing on estuarine and coastal physical oceanography, shelf circulation, sediment transport, fluid mechanics, transport processes, wave processes, and any related topics.

This Lapeco is being chaired by
